Fans believe that Jackman’s Deadpool 3 joke spoilt the Wolverine movie
Marvel fans believe that Deadpool 3 actor Hugh Jackman’s joking about spoiling a Wolverine movie. Despite Wolverine’s passing in the 2017 film Logan, the actor who played the well-known character will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds’ titular character. Jackman recently released a video on Instagram begging the Academy not to nominate Reynolds’ new movie Spirited for Best Original Song at the forthcoming Academy Awards as part of their humorous public rivalry.
In the video, Jackman said that he had spent a year with Reynolds filming “Wolverine and Deadpool,” which made Reynolds and other fans question if he was suggesting a title change for Deadpool 3. Users have also speculated that the actor may have included two distinct movies in the statement, perhaps revealing a Wolverine movie in addition to Deadpool 3.
Just a fraction of the remarks made by Jackman’s supporters are listed below: “It usually doesn’t take a year to shoot most movies, according to @pranay.16.patra; I think Hugh just accidentally spoiled a Wolverine movie. An actor typically works on a movie for a maximum of three months. “Wolverine andddd Deadpool??? A year of filming is obviously indicative of more than one movie,” tweeted @justin.charles63. Is Hugh Jackman Getting a Second Wolverine Film?
The Wolverine and Logan in Fox’s X-Men series extensively explored the mutant persona, providing Jackman the chance to shine as the main character in a few Marvel-related movies. However, Wolverine will make his MCU debut in Deadpool 3, so it’s possible the franchise could aim to prolong the character’s tenure rather than have him appear in just one movie. The likelihood that the actor will continue working with Marvel Studios beyond Deadpool 3 increased by his admission that he “had a two-picture deal [with them] at the beginning.”
Furthermore, it is not yet clear whether Jackman will play Wolverine in the Logan movie or another character iteration. He might have a longer career in the MCU if he returns as a mutant variant who does not suffer the same destiny. However, even if Jackman plays Logan’s Wolverine, Deadpool 3 might be able to give fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) an explanation for Wolverine’s existence after the 2017 movie. That would open up the possibility of a second Wolverine film that also formally enlists Laura (Dafne Keen).
While some MCU fans believe Jackman unintentionally revealed the development of a Wolverine film, it’s possible that his reference to “Wolverine and Deadpool” was just a playful way for him to escalate his feud with Reynolds by placing his character’s name prominently in the title of the Deadpool movie. Most remarks regarding the Wolverine movie are based on the small break in the video between “Wolverine” and the remaining words, which may just as easily be explained by the actor pausing to catch his breath. Even though there hasn’t been any confirmation that Wolverine would appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, Jackman’s MCU future is promising even without a solo movie to follow Deadpool 3.
