Angela Curry joins the board of directors of German American Bancorp, Inc. (GABC)
JASPER – Angela Curry, general counsel and vice president for legal affairs at the University of Louisville, has been appointed to the corporate board of directors of German American Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: GABC), starting as of January 1, 2023.
Curry is the University’s top legal representative in his capacity as General Counsel. She oversees all legal services provided to the University of Louisville while advancing the Cardinal Principles and the overarching goal.
She was nominated to serve as interim chief of staff for the University in 2021 in addition to her positions as general counsel and vice president for legal affairs.
Curry has developed extensive skills in complex litigation management, corporate governance, human resource management, strategic negotiations, employment law, litigation oversight, compliance education, and corporate administration through an unbroken career chain of leadership parts in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
Curry held the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation prior to her current position with the University of Louisville, where she served as chief legal counsel with $2 billion in assets under management and assisted in overseeing international social impact projects. She has also worked for the Kentucky Public Service Commission as an attorney and as general counsel for a number of universities, including Fisk University and Kentucky State University.
Angela Curry, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, graduated with honors from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She graduated from Boston University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, and is a lawyer who belongs to the Kentucky Bar Association. Curry is a Leadership Kentucky alum, a Kentucky Colonel, and an extremely active member of various civic groups in Louisville.
